Founded in 1999 and specializing in the Installation and Rigging of Diagnostic Imaging and Medical Equipment domestically and internationally, UTSS has earned a reputation as one of the premier installation companies globally.

Why we do it

UTSS treats every installation and service call with the highest degree of consideration for the safety and well being of everyone involved. The machines and technology we install, calibrate, fix and maintain can quite simply be the difference between life and death for some. We install and maintain them as if it is our own family member or close friend receiving its scan, diagnosis, or treatment.

 

History

It began with a vision that large manufactures in the medical industry were going to outsource installations. Today, UTSS is a global provider of complex machinery solutions and services for over 8 manufacturers and industry leaders in technology and equipment.

 
 
  • UTSS is founded by Jim Cecil, joined by Ron Duffy in 2001, looking to use their imaging expertise to help support OEM service models. Original customers included Philips Medical Systems, EG Baldwin and Associates (OEM dealer), Some direct hospital projects.

  • Ron Duffy joins the team January 2002 as minority partner.

    Siemens Medical Systems joins client list.

  • ISO 9001 certification achieved.

    This certification sets out the criteria for a quality management system. This standard is based on a number of quality management principles including a strong customer focus, the motivation and implication of top management, the process approach and continual improvement. Using ISO 9001 helps ensure that customers get consistent, good-quality products and services, which in turn brings many business benefits.

    Rapid expansion of installations services continues with Kodak/Carestream, AGFA, Fuji

  • Acquisition of NorCal Rigging and Installation, adding internal riggings capabilities and services.

    Matt Wurm joins the team.

  • Ron Duffy, James F. Cecil and Matt Wurm acquired the company.

    Contract expansions for Siemens and Philips achieved

  • Siemens contract expansion makes UTSS the largest install vendor and is nominated by Siemens Healthcare for Global Supplier.
