Our Industry is Truly Recession-Resistant

I remember sitting at my kitchen table when I was 18 years old when my mom said to me “Whatever you do, get into the medical industry.” “But I don’t want to touch patients!”, I said. She said there’s a lot of different things related to the medical industry that do not involve patient interaction. I remembered my mother’s words, and almost 40 years later, I’m still in the medical industry.

In my 36 years managing people, and since the inception of UTSS over 20 years ago, I have never laid anyone off for lack of work- not during the recession of 2008-2009, or even during the pandemic.

As we all know, mothers know best.
